Driven by a prime mover, the P.M. rotor of this machine rotates between two circular ring-shaped stator-cores and the flux of the monopolar rotor cuts the magnetic field of the circular stator-windings separately. Because of the "monopolar cutting", where the magnetic flux passes through the windings, there is no alternation of polarity, as that takes place in A.C. machine thus D.C.e.m.f is then induced in the stator windings and can be directly led out from the circular ring-shaped stators in no way of using any commutator and brushes. |
