Chinese caterpillar fungus (Cordyceps sinensis) is listed as a precious wild fungus plant for medicine and food. This invention reveals the isolation of C. sinensis fungus, same in character as the natural C. sinensis, from the tissue culture and ascus spore culture of the wild C. sinensis and the growth of stroma and ascus spore identical with the respective ones of natural C. sinensis, under the artifial cultivation conditions in bateria-free containers. This substanciated the isolation of genuine C. sinensis fungus. The hyphae of the cultural C. sinensis showed essencially the same pharmacological and medicinal chemical properties as that of the natural fungus plant, thus an effective way is provided for the cultivation and wide application of the cultural C. sinensis. |
