The fuming sulfuric acid-methyl alcohol process is probably adopted for the prepn. of dimethyl sulfate industrially. But this process is restricted in prodn. due to the necessity of using sulfur anhydride of high concn. as raw material, and the problem for "recovered sulfuric acid" treatment. This invention refers to successfully utilize the low concn. sulfur anhydride from the sulfuric converter to produce dimethyl sulfate directly, which is suitable formoderate or small scalled sulfuric acid factories to produce dimethyl sulfate simultaneously or specially. |
