This invention can be applied to manufacturing steel ball used in ball mills for raw materials grinding in thermal power plant, coal and mining industry, smelting works and cement plant. The said steel ball is first cut from bar steel, which contains a small amt. of manganese-ferric alloying elements. As soon as formed via die forging or rolling under heating, it is fed to rollaway nest quenching trough and quenched by utilizing the residual heat without the need of reheating for further tempering. The rationally matched wear resistence and toughness of the said ball can greatly decrease the metal materials consumption in tonnage prodn. of final prods. due to increased abrasive capability, extend the duration for equipment service before periodical maintenance, reduce the consumption of electric energy, and lower the cost. |
