A cable termination for paper- insulated medium voltage cables, includes a multi-fingered termination sleeve fitting sealingly on the cable sheath and on exposed core end portions and enclosing an encapsulating resin which forms a solid insulating body surrounding a crotch area, and is sufficiently flexible in the core fingers to prevent the creation of gap- forming forces in the crotch area under the influence of movements of the core ends, the spreading of the core end portions in the crotch area being determined by a rigid spreading body interposed between the cores. |
