This device has a probe which continuously tracks the contours of the surface of the workpieces and can indicate the workpiece shapes through electric signals of triaxial coordinate. The probe is rigidly connected with X-axial sliding base which is supported on the basement by Y-axial and Z-axial sliding bases. These sliding bases can slide perpendicularly to each other. Thus the probe can slide on the surfaces of the workpieces. The Z-axial sliding base hangs on the basement through a suspended spring and supports both X-axial and Y-axial sliding bases. A reset spring is used between the basement and X-axial sliding base to provide a reset force and reset the probe to the original place. The sliding surfaces of all sliding bases are supplied with compressed air so as to form the air bearings. |
