This invention is to prepare zinc without roasting from concentrated zinc sulfide or zinc sulfide ore, featuring by immersing directly with Fe2(SO4)3.H2SO4 under normal pressure to produce sulfuric acid or processing by a novel method for producing electrolytic zinc. After two immersions, total rates of zinc extraction approach 96.89% and 93.81% respectively. Fe2+in the mother solution is separated by solidification through crystalline of FeSO4.7H2O, which is again utilized to produce red or yellow iron, i.e. ferric or ferrous oxide. Meanwhile, the by product anhydrous Na2SO4 is obtained while residue Fe2+ is eliminated with `goethite' method. After purification for recovering Cu, Cd, and other metals, zinc sulfate solution is used for producing zinc sulfate and electrolytic zinc. sulfur can be extracted from the slag in element form after immersion. |
