This invention provides a method of making Y2O3-Ir cathode used by a electronic gun. Its characteristics are B-type Y2O3-Ir cathode point spiral needed to be winded under spirit lamp, C-type Y2O3-Ir cathode is made by pointwelding iridium filament on the pinpoint of wolfram cross hair, dipping iridium filament in Y2O3 and then sintering. This makes a iridium-heated pointshape Y2O3-Ir cathode. According to this way, it overcomes the backwards of early A-type Y2O3-Ir cathode: bad property of ion bombardment standing and easy droping of Y2O3. This is a new one with high brightness and a long lifetime specially suitable for electronic microscopes. |
