The mechanical seal assembly for the pump spindle includes a static sealing element and a rotary sealing element. These elements have close-fitting sealing faces and are gripped in a sealing sleeve which is capable of moving axially along with the spindle. The sealing sleeve is contiguous to a bearing part partially so as to prevent the sealing sleeve from moving axially towards the outside of the pump shell and support an isolating plate to define a cavity. The cavity is filled with a kind of relative incompressible fluid. One portion of the outer surface of the isolating plate bears the action of the fluid pressure inside the pump and other portion supports that side of the static sealing element which is opposite to its sealing face. |
