An aqueous resin composition usable in sizing compositions for the treatment of mineral fibers is disclosed. This aqueous composition comprises a resin obtained by the condensation, in a basic medium, of formaldehyde, urea, and melamine, in the presence of a polyol characterized by a functionality of at least 3. This resin is stable for long periods of times and capable of dilution by a factor of at least 1000%. |
