A multiple rolling mill comprising a pair work rolls, a pair of back-up rolls, an intermediate roll disposed between one of these work rolls and the back-up roll, an intermediate roller for supporting the work roll in a pass direction of a rolled material, and a support roller for supporting the intermediate roller, wherein the support roller is composed of a plurality of upper segment rollers and lower segment rollers, which are arranged in a staggered manner along axes which are spaced from each other in the vertical direction. The use of the support roller having the described construction enables an ample space to be formed between this support roller and the back-up roll or the intermediate roll which vertically supports each work roll, so that the diameter of the work roll can be reduced without any risk of iunterference between the support roller and the back-up roll or the intermediate roll. |
