A fluorescent lamp control circuit using non-preheated cathodes includes a starting circuit, a running circuit and a current detecting circuit. A power converter, is used together with the lamp circuit, which power converter comprises switch means is controlled by a drive wave-form circuit to provide a cyclic varying mark-space ratio signal from said supply power to an output circuit, said varying mark-space ratio signal being able to control the instantaneous magnitude of a said output supply voltage to minimise the effects of load changes on said output supply, and in said power source. As the fluorescent lamp control circuit is used together with the power converter, ambient light can be detected, light output can be adjusted, as well as increased life expectancy and reduced power dissipation. |
