To obtain an oral cavity composition containing an effective amount of a fluorine source, a dental abrasive, and a lithiasis-preventing agent comprising specific polymer, and useful for preventing tartar. This oral cavity composition contains an effective amount of a fluorine source (e.g. sodium fluoride, potassium fluoride, zinc difluoride), an effective amount of a dental abrasive, and 0.01-10wt.% of a lithiasis- preventing agent comprising at least two kinds of polymers selected from the homopolymers of carboxyl monomers selected from 3-5C monounsaturated monocarboxylic acids and dicarboxylic acids, their salts and anhydrides and copolymers containing at least 30wt.% of the carboxyl monomers. The fluorine source is preferably contained in an amount of 0.005-3.0wt.%, and the amount of the carboxyl monomer in the copolymer is preferably 40-90%. The polymer having a mol.wt. of approximately 400-100000 is preferably used. |
