The 3-electrode AC/DC smelting furnace is composed of the furnace body, 3 electrodes on the top and 3 at the bottom. The 3 electrodes on the top are connected to the AC power. There are leading-out wires from the power outlet lines connected respectively to the 3 electrodes at the bottom. On each leading-out wire, a rectifier and a switch are connected. When the switches are turned off, the said furnace is a triphase AC arc furnace, but when the switches are turned on, it becomes a DC one. The 3 electrodes at the furnace bottom are evenly installed and each of them is between the 2 electrodes on the top. |
