The passivating process for zinc-nickel alloy plating of the hydraulic mine props is a treatment method which can make the electroplated appearance esthetic and the cladding abrasion-resistant, in particular, highly corrosion-resistant. It is widely used in underground adverse circumstances. It mainly consists of the following eleven procedures: electrolytic oil-removing-water washing-strong immersing corrosion-water washing-weak immersing corrosion-water washing-Zn-Zi electroplating-water washing-passivating-water washing-stoving. The electroplating time is 20-30 min., zinc content of the cladding is 80-90%, and Nickel content is 10-20%. Its abrasion resistance is higher than that of nickelage or chroming and its anticorrosive capability is higher than that of nickelage or chroming by an average of 3-5 times, without hydrogen embrittlement.
