    The present invention relates to a device and a method used for forming curved or round edge on a lens, which is in particular suitable for a contact lens. The method for forming curved edge on the lens provided by the present invention comprises that a beam of laser is projected on the surface close to the edge on the lens, thereby ablation light is brought to lead to disintegration. The device provided by the present invention used for accomplishing the method of the present invention can trace out an arcual path at the edge of the lens for the laser beam to pass. The lens is preferably a polymer contact lens.
