    This male sterilant of plant contains an efficient threonine derivative as active component and an inertial carrier or a diluent. This invention discloses the method to induce male sterility in plant which includes the application of said male sterilant to plant and the production of hybrid seed. The male sterilant can easily and effectively induce male sterility in plant body without losing female fertility by applying it to male plant while pollinating the female plant with the pollen from male plant.
