A non-Nd hydrogen-bearing RE-alloy used as the negative electrode of Ni-H power battery has a chemical formula: LPC (NiCoMnAl)5, where LPC is the mixture La1-x-yPrxCey, where x=0.05-0.12 and y=0.16-0.25. Said mixture is remolten and purified. The hydrogen-bearing alloy is thermally treated at 600-900 deg.c. Its advantages are high discharge voltage, good low-temp performance and long cycle life of high-current charge-discharge.
