An umbrella having light weight and simple construction is provided: in which, when the umbrella is closed, a wetted outer surface of an umbrella cloth is closed inward, a protective cover for umbrellas which prevents raindrops on a wetted umbrella cloth from scattering on the surrounding people and objects arranged therearound; and an umbrella with such a protective cover for umbrella and also, the protective cover fixed thereto; An umbrella including a shaft rod having a ferrule on one end thereof and a handle on the other, a wheel fitted around the shaft rod, a plurality of elastic support ribs pivotably connected at one end of each thereof to the wheel and extended symmetrically with respect to the axis of the shaft rod, auxiliary support ribs pivotably connected at one end of each thereof to a ferrule-side portion, extended along the corresponding elastic support ribs and pivotably connected at the other end of each thereof to the elastic support ribs, and an umbrella cloth extended over the outer sides of the auxiliary support ribs and elastic support ribs; a contractible and detachable protective cover for holding an umbrella cloth as a whole and protecting the same after a just-used umbrella is closed with the umbrella cloth folded; and an umbrella with such an umbrella protective cover fixed thereto. |
