Arecaline hydrobromide is the hydrobromide of the alkaloid extracted from areca seed. The present invention uses arecaline hydrobromide as the effective component of medicine for arrhythmia, especially medicine for class-III arrhythmia. Research shows that arecaline hydrobromide has the effects of resisting arrhythmia caused by aconitine, wabain, chloroform-adrenine, calcium chloride and ischemic re-perfusion. The main mechanism is direct retardation the dcalcium, sodium and potassium ion current on myocardial cellular membrane to prolong action potential course. It has less negative reactions, especially less possibility of inducing new arrhythmia. |
