A sealant-containing tire having a ring-shaped sealant chamber (6) filled with sealant (5) formed between a tire main body (1) and an inner liner (8) by bonding the inner liner (8) on the inner surface of the tire main body (1) overlappingly with each other, wherein a sealant filling hole (8a) is formed in the inner liner (8), sealant (7) is filled into the sealant chamber (6) through the sealant filling hole (8a) and, after air present in the sealant chamber (6) is exhausted by vacuation, with the peripheral area of the sealant filling hole (8a) clamped, a crude rubber sheet (74) is bonded over the sealant filling hole (8a) so as to close the sealant filling hole (8a), whereby not only the sealant (7) can be filled in a short time but also a heat generated when a tire is vulcanizingly formed can be prevented from acting on the sealant (7) so as to prevent the sealant (5) from being deteriorated.
