    The invention provides the compounds of formula (I) and pharmaceutically acceptable derivatives thereof, in which: R<1> and R<2> are independently selected from H, C1-6 alkyl, C2-6 alkenyl, C3-6 alkynyl, C3-10 cycloalkyl, C0-6alkyl or C4-12 bridged cycloalkane; and R<3> is C1-6 alkyl or NH2. Compounds of formula (I) are potent and selective inhibitors of COX-2 and are of use in the treatment of pain, fever, inflammation and a variety of conditions and diseases.
