The invention concerns a bistable reflection display device comprising a liquid crystal material (30) enclosed between two parallel substrates (20, 40) provided with aligning means on the electrodes, which direct the liquid crystal and enable to produce alternately at least two distinct stable or metastable textures in the absence of field, means for applying, on the liquid crystal, electric signals which enable to switch by breaking the anchoring on at least one of the substrates, a polarizer (10) associated with the front surface of the device and oriented at an angle ranging between 15 DEG and 75 DEG relative to the member directing the liquid crystal on the front surface of the device, and a reflective, specular or diffusing element (50), placed on the rear surface of the liquid crystal. |
