    The invention relates to a piezo-electric flexion converter having a longitudinal support (2) with a piezo-electric unit (5) on at least one side wall. The piezo-electric unit (5) comprises one or more layers of piezo-electric material (12) as well as electrodes (13a, 13b) associated to said layers. In addition, the piezo-electric layer (5) comprises an electrically isolating coat surrounding the piezo-electric body(8) in a peripheral manner. The portion (26) of said coat located between the piezo-electric body (8) and the support (2) is provided with one or more electrically conducting feedthroughs (27a, 27b) which form the necessary electrical link between the electrodes (13a, 13b) and the support (2).
