A connection request signal from a terminal (PS2) associated with a new call, received by an array antenna (2), is applied to an adaptive array (14) and to a parameter estimator (15). When detecting from the output developed by the adaptive array (14) and from the signal applied from the antenna (2) that the connection request signal has been received via a C-channel, the parameter estimator (15) reduces, by a predetermined level, the transmission power of a terminal (PS1) associated with an existing call.
