    A gain control device for erbium-doped optical fiber (EDFA) amplifier includes pin photoelectric conversion module used for converting input light power into electric signal to realize regulation of gain locking value and to control gain compensation when small signal is inputting Via Pin program controlled gain amplification or DAC module, Pout photoelectric conversion module converting output light power into electric signal and Pout amplification module used for amplifying amplitude of signal detected by Pout, Pin detection signal and Pout detection signal both being acted as differential input signals and to be connected at the same time with input ends of proportional-integral control module and proportion differential control module as overlapping circuit taking the sum Vc of proportional-integral voltage output and proportional-differential voltage output.
