    A protecting film of organic luminescent device is composed of an inorganic insulating layer and an organic insulating layer. Its packaging method includes growing an inorganic film layer on the back of said organic luminescent device, and applying a layer of organic material on said inorganic film. It is impervous to water vapour and oxygen gas, resulting in long service life.
