    A method for treating the foundation which features thich soft soil layer, higher water level, and variable load-bearing layer depth features that the composite piles composed of upper and lower pile segments are arranged in the stratum to be treated, and an artificial mattress layer is spread on the surface of said stratum to be treated to cover the top ends of said upper pile segments. Its advantages are simple method and high effect on increasing load-bearing power of foundation.
