    The present invention provided a joining device which controls a pressurizing force easily, surely, finely and also automatically. The device is equipped with a driving means 41 for driving a movable electrode transfer means 40, an operating means 43 for transmitting a signal for instructing the operation of the driving means 41, and a controller 42. The controller 42, on the basis of the signal transmitted from a sensor 15 for detecting a set pressurizing force and from the operating means 43, controls the operation of the driving means 41 for driving the movable electrode transfer means 40, in a manner enabling a movable electrode 12 to stop at each of the retreat position the joining position and the temporary stop position set before the joining position on a path going from the retreat position to the joining position. The controller 42 also has the ability to automatically change at least the joining position of the movable electrode 12, on the basis of a detection signal from the sensor 15 for detecting a set pressurizing force.
