    The present invention provide an image forming device which enables correct access to the storage part of each of developer storage cartridges and to provide a control method for the image forming device. The image forming device is a color printer that has the developer storage cartridges, each of which has the storage part, and a cartridge holder for holding the developer storage cartridges so that they are rotatable. With one of the developer storage cartridges located in an image forming position by the cartridge holder, the color printer develops a latent image on an image carrier with the developer stored in the developer storage cartridge. A part for accessing the storage part of each developer storage cartridge is located in a position other than the image forming position. Thus, the image forming device that enables correct access to the storage part of each developer storage cartridge are provided.
