    In an open/close device of a door of a rail road locomotive, the size of the entire device is minimized while ensuring the sliding smoothness of the door. The solution of the present invention is a device for sliding door leaves 10A, 10B for left and right sides of a door of a rail road locomotive towards an open or a closing direction. The door leaves 10A, 10B are each connected to and straddled over a belt 26 provided between a driving wheel 23 and a driven wheel 24 by means of connecting members 27, 28. The driving source is an electromotive motor 22 constructed by a directly driven motor being an outer rotor-typed, on the outer rotors being provided with the driving wheel. In addition, in opening/closing the door, the connecting member 27 pass through a front side of an axial direction of the electromotive motor 22.
