The invention provides a multiple optical axis photoelectric switch whose optical axes can be easily adjusted without an increase in cost and size. Through a provisional arrangement, light receiving elements 21M to 21O are turned into a state where they receive light, and only a unit display 33d out of a fourth light receiving group 44 is turned ON, By this setup, it is found that an end light receiving element 21P closer to the fourth light receiving element group 44 is approaching a prescribed position at which it is turned to a state of receiving light. Then, the lower side of a light receiving apparatus 20 or the like is finely moved in a lateral direction to turn all the light receiving elements (21M to 21P) of the fourth light receiving group 44 into a state of receiving light and turn a second display 32 ON. Thereafter, the light receiving apparatus 20 or the like is made to pivot in the direction so as to increase the LEDs of the unit displays 33a to 33d, which are turned ON, in number, the first display unit 33a is turned ON, and an optical axis adjustment operation is finished by ascertaining that all the unit displays 33a to 33d are all turned ON.
