An ink cartridge 300 for supplying ink to a recorder 10 comprises an ink cartridge body 302 having a roughly box shape for storing the ink; an information memory section 314 having a connection electrode section 316 provided at a part of a first side wall 310 of the ink cartridge body 302; an ink supply section 322 provided on the front faced 320 intersecting with the first side face 310; and a positioning section 326 that guides a positioning member 220 of the recorder 10 such that the positioning member 220 is opposite to the connection electrode section 316 to be in roughly parallel to the connection electrode section 316, at a portion in the vicinity of the connection electrode section 316 on the front face 320. The invention maintains a relative position between an information reading section of an ink cartridge holder and an information memory section of an ink cartridge that require accurate positioning even when the ink cartridge has an unstable property. |
