    This invention provides a method for automatically calculating the covering sphere of local areas, which calculates the random accessed channel data frames reported by the base station with a base station controller to get the airborne interface transmission time delay so as to compute out the distance from the mobile terminal to the local area antenna and calculate the cover sphere of the area, which is used in the optimization of wireless networks.
