    The invention discloses a method to locate a device in two-layer network, which comprises: the source device active broadcasts in two-layer network the Mac address learning message contained the Mac address of target device; the latter receives the message and sends unicast message to source device when self Mac address according with the one contained in message; the source device locates target device according to the Mac address in unicast from target device and Mac address of target device. This invention is not dependent on whether there is Mac address of target device in source device to realize location exact to PC.
