    There provide an organic EL device capable of suppressing a series of short circuit along a power supply line. The organic EL device has at least a positive electrode and a negative electrode interposing a luminous layer in a picture element region 26 and a power supply line 8 supplying electric current to the positive electrode. A high resistance part 80 which has higher electric resistance than the other portion of the negative electrode is provided at a part of the negative electrode, and the high resistance parts 80 are arranged at the surroundings of the picture element region 26 in the same pitch with the picture element 26 so that they overlap with the power supply line 8 arranged in lattice form in plan view.
