The device has ultrasound measuring system (10) with at least two ultrasound producing sources for impinging ultrasound on the casing strip (15). At least two ultrasonic sensor receiving units (14) are provided for receiving ultrasonic signals which pass through the casing strip. A partition (21, 31) is arranged between at least two ultrasound producing sources or between at least two ultrasonic sensor receiving units.
