An information recording method is provided for performing recording to an information recording medium, which has a plurality of rewritable recoding layers each of which has a data area for recording user data. The method is provided with a recorded area existence judging step of judging whether a recorded area exists or not at least in a data area of a first recording layer. The method is also provided with a corresponding unrecorded area data embedding step of recording prescribed data, in a prescribed timing prior to recording completion in the information recording medium, in an unrecorded area among the areas at a position equivalent to the same radius position as the recorded area, in a second recording layer excluding the first recording layer. |
