An optical disc drive comprises a light emitting section for emitting laser light, an optical system for irradiating an optical disc medium with laser light, and a section for controlling aberration of laser light. The aberration control section repeatedly switches a plurality of aberration set states at the time of focus drawing operation. Alternatively, the aberration control section simultaneously sets a plurality of aberration set states at the time of focus drawing operation. Consequently, a plurality of aberration set states can coexist substantially in a single optical system. |
