An ink cartridge (210) for supplying ink to the recording apparatus by being mounted to the recording apparatus includes an ink cartridge main body (220) for containing the ink; an ink supplying member (240) provided on the bottom surface (222) of the ink cartridge main body (220), and having an ink supply hole positioned near a first side wall (224) intersecting with the bottom surface (222) of the ink cartridge main body (220); an information storing member (260) having the contact terminals (262) provided on a second side wall (226) intersecting with the bottom surface (222) of the ink cartridge main body (220) and facing the first side wall (224); and a positioning member (280) protruding from the second side wall (226) for positioning the ink cartridge (210) with respect to the recording apparatus when it is mounted to the recording apparatus. The contact terminals of the ink cartridge can reliably keep the contact with the contact terminals of the recording apparatus side, thus increases the degree of freedom of the position of the contact terminals. |
