The invention provides a a bookbinding system which can record an image at the appropriate position relative to a cover sheet to be cut in accordance with the thickness of a sheet bundle. By controlling the recording position of images on the cover sheet by an image recording means based on the thickness information of the bundle of sheets, image recording at the appropriate position is made possible irrespective of the amount of cutting of the cover sheet that is cut to an appropriate length in accordance with the thickness of the bundle of sheets to be wrapped and bound with the cover sheet. |
