    An apparatus and a method for eliminating color interference in black and white image by the parameters set based on the ratio of brightness level are provided which comprising the following steps: the first step of selecting a parameter set based on the ratio of brightness level according to the level of the brightness signal when a image signal consisted of brightness signal and color difference signal is inputted; a second step of comparing the level of the selective parameter and the inputted color difference signal; a third step of outputting the discriminative colour level and the black-white level after the same are discriminated; a fourth step of outputting the colour level obtained by introducing the selective parameter into the appointed transmission function if it is decriminated to switch the colour level into the black-white level.
