According to one aspect of the invention a selection device is provided that comprises access to a data pool (20) with data records that include at least contact information. The data pool (20) is structured in accordance with a hierarchical authorization scheme. The selection device further comprises an authorization mechanism(14, 16) for determining the authorization underlyin g a requested selection operation, a unit(14, 22) for restricting the selecti on operation to a portion of the data pool(20) that corresponds to the authorization underlying the selection operation, a generator(22) for generating a selection list(30) from contact information included in the selected data records of the data pool portion to which the selection operation has been restricted, and an interface to an environment(32, 34) f or automatically generating the output on the basis of the contact information included in the selection list(30). |
