The invention provides a pencil sharpener, which is excellent in operability and with which no fatigue can be felt by a user for sharpening a pencil. In the pencil sharpener 1 provided with a fixing part 2 for fixing the pencil P, a cutting body part 3 for sharpening the fixed pencil P and an operating part 4, the fixing part 2, the cutting body part 3 and the operating part 4 are provided continuously on tandem in the order named so as to assemble the cutting body part 3 in a tubular body case 11 and a cutting part 22 equipped with a cutting blade 20 rotatably and reciprocatorily axially under the condition that the cutting part 22 is so constituted as to be energized towards the fixing part 2 by the action of a compression coiled spring 24 and the cutting part 22 is made to be able to rotate by interlocking with the operating part 4. |
