    The present invention relates to the application of 20(S)-protopanoxadiol derivative in preparing depression treating medicine. Pharmacological test shows that 20(S)-protopanoxadiol derivative can shorten the dead time of tested mouse in acquired desperation model experiment, and this probes the depression antagonizing activity of the 20(S)-protopanoxadiol derivative.
