The machine is so constituted: that a switch lever (32) of the thread tension regulation apparatus (30) is rotated by the prescribed operation to switch between a tension application position to apply the tension to the needle thread (T) by making a pair of stitch balancing thread tension plates (31a, 31b) come close to each other to hold the needle thread (T) and a tension releasing position to release the tension to the needle thread (T) by making the pair of the stitch balancing thread tension plates (31a, 31b) separate from each other to release the needle thread (T) so that the switching between the application of the tension to the needle thread (T) by the stitch balancing thread tension apparatus (5) together with the thread tension regulation apparatus (30) and the application of the tension to the needle thread (T) by only the stitch balancing thread tension apparatus (5) is executed.
