Disclosed is a rubber composition exhibiting excellent storage modulus of elasticity and loss factor without deteriorating in workability. The rubber composition is characterized by containing 5-60 parts by mass of an aromatic vinyl compound-diene compound copolymer (B) having a weight average molecular weight of 5,000-300,000 (in terms of polystyrene as measured by gel permeation chromatography) per 100 parts by mass of a rubber component (A) which is composed of at least one of natural rubbers and synthetic diene rubbers. The rubber composition is further characterized in that the copolymer (B) contains 5-80 mass% of the aromatic vinyl compound and the vinyl bond content in the diene compound block is 10-80 mass%. Such a rubber composition can be used in a tread compound for pneumatic tires. |
