    The invention relates to a method for coloring and/or decoloring every pixel individually in a display device which is constituted of electrochromic pixels. According to said method, a work area is used for coloring/decoloring the pixels which is approximatively delimited to lower values by way of an activation voltage (Uf). The pixels not to be colored/to be decolored are impinged upon with a bias voltage (Ue) that does not yet produce a color change.
