    An adaptive back light modulating system and the method include the brightness matching distribution device, the brightness compensation device, the image frame adjusting device, the back light controlling device and a back light module. The brightness matching distribution device can generate the brightness matching distribution value of every image frame. The brightness compensation device computes the dark ratio and the brightness index value of the image frame according to the brightness matching distribution value to generate the brightness compensation signal. The image frame adjusting device adjusts the brightness of the image frame according to the brightness compensation signal. The back light controlling device can renew the brightness index value according to the brightness index value and the brightness matching distribution to generate the back light controlling signal corresponding to the present image frame. The back controlling device adjust the back light of the back light module according to the back light controlling signal to make the brightness of the image frame match with the luminescent curve of the back light module.
