The invention is a protocol adaptation implementing unit, arranged in first network element to make the first network element automatically adapted to multiple second network elements with various protocol versions, where the first network element supports above two protocol versions. And it is configured with protocol adaptation switch, where the adaptation switch is set closed for the protocol which is applied to the second network elements and can be directly recognized by the first network element; the adaptation switch is set open for the protocol which is applied to the second network elements and needs converting by the first network element before recognized. And it is applied to a protocol adaptation implementing method. On the condition of needing no updating, it automatically adapts to PHSMAP protocols of new and old versions by HLR and SMSC; and it is applied to adaptation processing for other protocols in communication field. |
